Stillwater Terms of Use

Purpose

Stillwater is a sobriety companion for journaling, recovery practice, and exploratory behavioral reflection. It is not medical care, diagnosis, treatment, clinical monitoring, or a prediction of relapse.

Safety

Do not rely on Stillwater for emergencies. Contact emergency services, a crisis service, a medical professional, or a trusted person when urgent help is needed.

Accounts

An account is optional for core local features and is required to manage Pro entitlement. You are responsible for protecting your credentials and using the service lawfully.

Stillwater Free and Pro

The plain line-by-line comparison is published on the Stillwater features and plans page. Free provides the core sobriety companion and transparent on-device journal word-and-phrase reflection without calculating or storing new AMM model output. Pro activates private on-device AMM calculations when you submit relevant information and adds detailed modeled-pressure results, contributing factors, personalized resource suggestions, history, trends, scenarios, and expanded content limits. AMM does not run continuously or in the background.

Pro is not publicly purchasable until Google Play Billing launches. Before purchase, Stillwater will display the localized price, billing period, renewal terms, cancellation route, and applicable subscription terms.

Recovery Circles and shared content

Recovery Circles are not enabled in the current production build. When enabled, they will be free, optional, invite-only spaces for adults who affirmatively accept the Recovery Circle Community Terms and Code of Conduct. They are not public web pages, professional treatment groups, confidential therapy, or emergency services. Members may read, answer, copy, or reshare content visible to them, and user content may be inaccurate, upsetting, or offensive.

When you choose “Share with this circle,” you authorize Stillwater System to host, process, reproduce, and display that content to members of the selected circle as needed to operate, secure, and moderate the feature. You keep ownership of your content and must share only content you own or have permission to share. Choosing “Keep private” stores the note on your device and does not authorize publication to a circle.

Posts and replies include Report and Block controls. Blocking hides shared Circle posts and replies between the two accounts and can be reversed from the member list or Blocked accounts on the Recovery Circles screen, even after a member leaves. The Community Terms prohibit harassment, belittling, threats, exploitation, privacy violations, dangerous instructions, illegal content, and evasion of safety controls.

Local data

Wellness records remain on the device. You are responsible for maintaining access to the device; uninstalling or clearing application data can permanently erase them.

Availability and changes

The service may change, experience interruption, or discontinue features. Material changes to paid terms will follow applicable law and Google Play requirements.
